Rolando Campos was born in Seville in 1947. He is one of the most outstanding artists of the Andalusian context of the second half of the 20th century. In 1964 he began his studies at the Escuela Superior de Bellas Artes de Santa Isabel de Hungría, which he did not complete due to disagreements with the tradition-anchored philosophy of that school.

The piece that we observe represents a sculptural still life in bronze made in 1995. In it, he unfolds the image and expands the points of view of the same object in a single glance, a strategy typical of cubist aesthetics. Three elements with a rough texture and rusty appearance are observed. The rust itself fulfills a pictorial function due to the ocher and green tones, which are spilled on the wood support.

The art critic, José María Moreno Galván said of him: "Rolando always finds the most secret keys to poetry, which consists of groping reality in indirect allusions, rather than in definitions, which finds presences in absences, which knows how to look for the timbre effect of reality much more than the noise of its presence."
